KHMER TV

KHMER TV

The Cambodian-American community is unique in that its vibrant culture is largely ignored by local media. A dearth of culturally tailored programming plagues the community of war-torn refugees and recent immigrants.

Traditional news and entertainment media do not sufficiently cover or depict local festivals, festivities, and community leaders. While the Vietnamese-American, Korean-American, and Chinese-American communities have all established several sources of local broadcast programming, the Cambodian-American community has never had a local media outlet to represent and deliver culturally distinct entertainment and news.

The founders of Khmer TV hope to provide a vital media resource for the Cambodian-American community in order to achieve these goals. Our objective is to provide a broadcasting home for Cambodian-Americans where they may watch news, entertainment, education, and other content tailored to the Cambodian-American community. Khmer TV’s purpose is to bring the Cambodian-American community together and empower them by serving as a unifying platform.

To further connect and inform the greater Cambodian-American community, we want to develop collaborations with community organizations, leaders, government agencies, local companies, performers, and all people.
