TVK2 – Your Channel for Educational and Cultural Programming

National Television of Kampuchea (TVK), which is owned by the government, started testing its new channel, TVK2, also known as TVK-Education, this morning. With schools closed all over the country to stop the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports (MoEYS) are working together on TVK2 to promote distance learning and e-learning. Students in kindergarten through grade 12 can watch educational programs on the channel 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

H.E. Khieu Kanharith, Minister of Information, praised the channel as "a great achievement of our ministry in this mission" at the weekly meeting of the ministry. In the first phase, TVK2 will show videos that the MoEYS has already made. In the second phase, TVK2 will work with the MoEYS to make new videos using advanced production methods.

Students can get to the programs through TVK2, satellite DTV (Channel 22), the Ministry of Information's app, and all provincial and local cable TVs. On April 8, the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Education and Youth Services signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Preparation, Production, and Broadcasting of Distance Learning and E-Learning Programs. The goal of the MoU is to provide fair, high-quality, and effective education services through distance learning to students at all levels across the country during the school closure period, as well as to improve the planning and implementation of an e-learning system.
